On Saturday, March 29, 2025, at the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Beijing, meeting was held between Secretary-General Nurlan Yermekbayev and Rovshan Muradov, the head of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center (Azerbaijan), a non-governmental organization. The meeting was initiated by the Nizami Ganjavi International Center.
The guest provided information about the Center’s establishment and activities, which was founded in 2012 at the initiative of the leadership of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He spoke about the work done to popularize the legacy of the great thinker Nizami Ganjavi, the Center’s ongoing research and analytical activities, and the organization of international events, including the annual Global Baku Forum. He also shared plans for an international conference in China this year and invited the leadership of the SCO Secretariat to participate in the upcoming event. Additionally, ideas were expressed regarding the development of cooperation with other non-governmental international structures in the interest of the organization.
For his part, Nurlan Yermekbayev thanked his interlocutor for his interest in the activities of the SCO and spoke about its history, goals, and objectives, as well as the current state and prospects of cooperation, the priorities of the current Chinese chairmanship, and the decision-making process within the Organization.
