At the invitation of the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Deputy SCO Secretary-General Nurlan Yermekbayev took part as an invited guest in a CIS Heads of State Council Meeting (Moscow, 8 October 2024).
On 9 October, a traditional trilateral meeting of the heads of executive bodies of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation, the CIS and the SCO took place on the sidelines of the summit. Attendees included CSTO Secretary-General Imangali Tasmagambetov, SCO Secretary-General Sergei Lebedev and Deputy SCO Secretary-General Nurlan Yermekbayev.
The officials exchanged views on key international and regional issues, primarily those related to maintaining stability and security, and discussed prospects for expanding collaboration between the three organisations.
The heads of delegations reaffirmed their intention to continue maintaining and deepening their partnership relations while prioritising practical cooperation.
By mutual agreement, the CSTO Secretariat will organise the next meeting in this format.
