Debate in the UN Security Council on cooperation between the UN and regional organizations

A UN Security Council debate on the topic "Cooperation between the UN and regional and subregional organizations for the maintenance of international peace and security" was held under the chairmanship of the Russian Federation on July 19, 2024, in hybrid format.

The event was attended by the Secretaries General of the SCO, CSTO and the CIS, as well as representatives of permanent and non-permanent members of the UN Security Council, the UN Secretariat and other invited participants from the SCO countries.

In his speech, SCO Secretary-General Zhang Ming informed the sides about the Organization's activities in the field of security, including the fight against the "three forces of evil" and countering drug trafficking, as well as cooperation between the UN and the SCO.
