On 23 July 2024, SCO Secretary-General Zhang Ming met with Special Representative of the President of Russia for Relations with International Organisations to Achieve Sustainable Development Goals Boris Titov at the SCO Secretariat.
The Secretary-General congratulated Boris Titov on recently assuming office and provided an update on the Organisation’s initiatives in sustainable development, environmental protection, green financing, and energy conservation. He highlighted that 2025 is designated as the Year of Sustainable Development for the SCO and welcomed the Russian Federation’s active participation in these collaborative efforts.
Boris Titov noted the significant contribution of the SCO to sustainable development, emphasising its importance for both the regional countries and the international community. He affirmed Russia’s readiness to actively engage in this collaborative effort, utilising the Organisation’s platform to create a “green, prosperous, and developing common home.”
