On 29-30 May 2024, Dushanbe hosted the Road to Tian-Shan International Conference chaired by Minister of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan Azim Ibrohim. The conference was attended by the delegation of the SCO Secretariat led by SCO Deputy Secretary-General Sohail Khan.
In his remarks at the conference, Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Kohir Rasulzoda welcomed the participants.
The conference was also attended by representatives of a number of states and international and regional organisations.

The participants discussed the state and prospects for transport cooperation, including inter-regional transport corridors, multi-mode freight, road infrastructure, etc.
In his remarks, Sohail Khan noted the importance of establishing transport ties in the SCO region in all forms. He stressed that the SCO had approved important documents on transport cooperation aimed at an unhindered movement of goods, services, and capital. The documents were also intended to enhance freight and passenger traffic safety and reduce transport’s environmental impacts.
