On 13 May 2024, in Beijing, SCO Secretary-General Zhang Ming held a meeting with Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, who is on a visit to the People’s Republic of China.

The meeting participants discussed the progress of preparations for the upcoming sessions of the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers and the SCO Council of Heads of State. There was particular emphasis on the events proposed by Pakistan in light of its chairmanship of the SCO Council of Heads of Government (Prime Ministers).
The parties exchanged views on enhancing the SCO’s operations, ongoing areas of cooperation in politics and security, as well as trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian interaction within the organisation.
