SCO Secretary-General’s meeting with Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the PRC

On 5 December 2023, SCO Secretary-General Zhang Ming had a meeting at the SCO Secretariat with Bunyad Huseynov, the newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the People’s Republic of China.

During their conversation, the officials exchanged opinions on the most promising directions for the expansion of ties between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the SCO in accordance with the memorandum on granting SCO dialogue partner status to the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The Ambassador reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s interest in consistently expanding interaction with the SCO in general, as well as with separate SCO member states. In turn, Zhang Ming praised Baku’s commitment and noted that the SCO Secretariat was facilitating expanded cooperation with SCO dialogue partners in every way.
