On 6 December 2023, Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Zhang Ming had a meeting at the SCO Headquarters with Director General of Rossiya Segodnya International Media Group Dmitry Kiselev.
Mr Zhang went on to thank Rossiya Segodnya and the Russian leadership for their assistance in designing the new website.
Dmitry Kiselev said that the SCO symbolised relations of a new kind and a new world which is taking shape on our watch, attracting more and more countries around the world. He also offered the SCO Secretary-General a detailed insight into the media group’s latest projects and explained the main differentiating factors setting Rossiya Segodnya apart from other Russian media agencies.
Mr Zhang and Mr Kiselev reaffirmed their shared understanding of the need to present a true image of the SCO against the backdrop of all the misinformation, exchanged views on the launch of an updated version of the SCO website, as well as the creation an SCO Online Legal Database.

The launch ceremony for the SCO’s updated website took place on 28 November 2023 as part of the SCO Council of National Coordinators meeting in Beijing, with Dmitry Kiselev joining it online.
Rossiya Segodnya has been acting as the SCO website operator since 2015.
