On 21 September, the Kyrgyz Republic hosted the Eurasia-Antiterror - 2023 one-day joint anti-terrorism exercise of competent authorities of the SCO and CIS member states. The exercise was attended by SCO Deputy Secretary General Nurlan Yermekbayev.
During the first stage, the participants were familiarised with the initial phase of the exercise, where the SCO and CIS competent agencies, working together, identified and neutralised several terrorist and extremist groups.
During the second stage, the participants travelled to the site of the power phase of the anti-terrorism drill. This stage included demonstrations of practical skills to rescue hostages and neutralise terrorists.
Following the exercise, an awards ceremony was held for members of special units participating in the practical phase of the drill, as well as an exhibition of weapons, and military and other special equipment.
