On 5 September 2023, an exhibition of children’s drawings from SCO countries called Silk Road: Artists' Rendezvous -The Silk Road in Children's Eyes opened in Dunhuang, Gansu Province. It was organised by the Chinese SCO Committee on Good-Neighbourliness, Friendship and Cooperation, the China International Culture Association and the Chinese Central Academy of Fine Arts.
SCO Deputy Secretary-General Nuran Niyazaliev visited the exhibition and spoke at the opening ceremony. He noted that caring for young people and the rising generation was an important issue of the Organisation’s agenda. Such exhibitions help children gain an insight into the history and cultural diversity of SCO nations. Nuran Niyazaliev added that the ideas of peace, friendship and cooperation always prevailed in children’s paintings.
