On 6 July 2023, SCO Secretary-General Zhang Ming met with Artyom Sharov, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Russian Trading Company (RTC/Hua No E Xiang) in China, at the SCO Secretariat.
Artyom Sharov shared his company’s experience of converting to payments and settlements in national currencies.
Zhang Ming thanked Artyom Sharov for sharing this interesting information and noted that it would be appropriate to use these methods to implement the road map aimed at gradually increasing the share of national currencies in mutual payments and settlements of SCO member states, approved in 2022 at an SCO Heads of State Council Meeting in Samarkand, the Republic of Uzbekistan.
