On 6 February 2023, SCO Secretary-General Zhang Ming received Government Minister and Head of the Department for Foreign Economic Relations of Moscow (Russian Federation) Sergei Cheryomin at the SCO Secretariat.
The meeting participants discussed a wide range of issues in the context of expanding interregional cooperation within the SCO.
They focused on the need to strengthen interaction between the capitals of the SCO member states within existing mechanisms in the trade, economic, scientific, technical, cultural and humanitarian fields, in particular in education, finance, tourism, sports, environmental protection and other areas.
The government minister noted that Moscow is ready to take an active part in implementing the initiatives of the SCO member states in the above areas.
