On 15 September 2022, Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Zhang Ming met with Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation Stanislav Zas on the sidelines of the SCO Heads of State Council Meeting in Samarkand, Republic of Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, the officials discussed the further development of cooperation between the two organisations, above all under the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2007 in Dushanbe.
They also discussed the possibility of preparing and holding joint events, in particular, continuing the work of the trilateral mechanism of the SCO-CSTO-CIS leaders’ meeting.
