On 31 March 2022, heads of the SCO Supreme Financial Control Institutions (SFCI) held their fifth meeting via videoconference. The meeting was chaired by the Pakistan Audit and Accounts Service.
The experts exchanged views on SFCI operations amid the COVID-19 pandemic. It was noted that the audit institutions were playing an important role in the context of the consistent effort to boost the efficiency of measures taken by the SCO governments seeking to improve the socioeconomic situation in their countries. The participants stressed the need for devising a special methodology that would enable an online audit of various ministries and agencies.
They also discussed valuation matters in the context of financial control of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The meeting approved a Plan of Measures for Cooperation between the SFCI of the SCO Member States for 2022-2023.
