SCO Deputy Secretary-General attends a special event held by the Republic of Uzbekistan on the sidelines of the 65th Session of the UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND)

On 18 March 2022, SCO Deputy Secretary-General Yerik Ashimov took part in a special event on the sidelines of the 65th Session of the UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs. The event was sponsored by the National Information and Analytical Centre for Drug Control under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

In his remarks, Yerik Ashimov reaffirmed the SCO member states' were commitment to the existing international system of fighting drug trafficking based on the norms and principles of international law as well as the relevant UN conventions and SCO documents. He stressed that in this area the SCO attached particular importance to working with the UN Office on Drugs and Crime.
