On 2 March 2022, SCO Secretary-General Zhang Ming had a meeting with Moin ul Haque, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the PRC, at the SCO Secretariat. Zhang Ming and Moin ul Haque discussed the Organisation's current activities and possible aspects of future multilateral interaction in a warm and friendly atmosphere. They focused on efforts to maintain regional security, in the context of the situation in Afghanistan, and on efforts to upgrade mechanisms for countering modern threats and challenges in the SCO region.
The SCO Secretary-General noted the active involvement of Pakistan in filling the SCO agenda with real content and implementing it. He underscored the need to use the entire potential of the Organisation to expand mutually beneficial cooperation.
In turn, Moin ul Haque reaffirmed the readiness of his Embassy to actively help implement multi-role projects within the SCO framework, with the aim of expanding trade and economic cooperation, attracting investment, raising the people's standards of living and also strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties.
