On 19 November 2021, SCO Secretary-General Vladimir Norov visited Anhui University during his working visit to the Anhui Province.
Anhui University leadership guided the Secretary-General through the university's history, education methods, development of specific majors and achievements of recent years.
The SCO Secretariat delegation also learned about the work of the research centres for micro and nanoelements and for contrast correction of electrical devices, as well as the process for conducting experiments and research.
Vladimir Norov and Anhui University leadership unanimously concluded that it is important for the SCO member states to develop cooperation between education institutions.
The visit ended with a meeting with students learning foreign languages, including those learning Russian.

Anhui University was founded in 1928. The university currently has about 27,000 students and 2,500 staff, including 1,522 faculty members. The university comprises 18 schools and 44 departments, and offers 65 bachelor's programmes, 119 master's programmes and 16 doctoral programmes. The university's motto is "Honest, resolute, erudite, discreet."
